PLACED | Isle sur la Sorgue, Provence | English-speaking Nanny | March / April 2026

A friendly family, well known to the agency and for whom we have placed two nannies, is looking for an English-speaking nanny to join them in March / April 2026.

The family consists of both parents and two young boys. The eldest is 6 years old and attends the final year of nursery school. The youngest, aged 3, attends the first year of nursery school.

A French-speaking tutor comes for a few hours per week to help the eldest with his homework and with learning to read in French.

The schedule during school weeks will be as follows:

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the nanny will start work at 15:30 with a visit to the family home to prepare the evening activities, review the meal prepared by the housekeeper, check the playroom / tidying up, prepare the pyjamas for after bath time, etc. The aim for the family is to be perfectly organised so that when the nanny collects the children at 16:30 she can be fully dedicated to them until the evening.
One of the parents is often available from 19:00 to take over.

Wednesdays: 8:30 – 19:00: during the day, one of the parents takes care of one of the children if they need to go to an activity while the other child goes to another activity with the nanny.

Two babysittings during the week (excluding weekends) are included, but will rarely be used.

Saturdays: 8:30 – 13:00

As the nanny does not resume work until 15:30 on Monday, despite working on Saturday morning she has 48 consecutive hours of rest.

The schedule during school holiday weeks will be as follows:

Monday to Friday: 8:30 – 19:00

During the holidays, the nanny looks after both children on her own. However, everything is organised so that things run smoothly. For example, on Wednesdays the father takes the eldest to his English class at 9:00 and waits for him until 9:45. The father also takes him to his BMX lesson from 10:00 to 11:00. The nanny then takes the youngest to the BMX lesson which starts at 11:00 and at that moment collects the eldest to bring him home. The father attends the youngest’s lesson and then brings him home where he joins his brother. They have lunch together. In the afternoon, the mother collects the eldest around 15:00 for his handball lesson, while the youngest goes to the media library with the nanny. At the end of the handball lesson, the mother drops the eldest at the media library with the nanny and his brother. The idea is always that the boys have the most pleasant schedule possible. Another example: on Mondays, the nanny collects both boys and takes care of them until 17:30. At that point, the nanny drops the eldest at his English lesson and returns home with the youngest. The father collects him at the end of his lesson and brings him home. In this example, the aim is to avoid the youngest having to get back into the car unnecessarily, especially if he is busy with an activity with his nanny.

Nanny profile and responsibilities:

Since the children were very young, English-speaking nannies have been employed. Therefore, the family would like to continue with this arrangement. The nanny will speak only English to the children.

The nanny must have a team spirit and work alongside both parents, who are very involved in the upbringing of their two children.
A housekeeper, who takes care of maintaining the home and cooking for the family, including the children, is employed full time. The nanny is not responsible for any domestic duties.

It is essential that the nanny is a driver. A car with automatic transmission is provided for her, both during working hours and at weekends. Petrol is also paid for.

The nanny will be required to accompany the family on holidays.
In winter, the family spends one week skiing. The nanny will have her own studio not far from the hotel where the family stays. The opportunity to ski at the end of the day with a ski instructor will be offered to her.

In summer, three weeks are spent in Corsica. The family generally asks the nanny to accompany them for a maximum of two weeks. The first week of the holidays is spent with the family only.

The nanny is entitled to 5 weeks of paid holiday per year. The parents are quite flexible regarding the nanny’s holidays. They always try to coordinate them as well as possible together with the nanny. The nanny is asked to avoid taking more than two consecutive weeks of holiday.

The salary offered is €3,500 if the nanny has her own accommodation.
For a live-in position, the salary offered is €3,200 net per month and the family provides a lovely fully equipped 80m² cottage with a garden for the nanny’s use.

Please note that only EU passport holders or candidates who already have the right to work in France will be considered.
