Meet Emma Henderson, Overseas Consultant

As the consultant responsible for the Nannies Incorporated Overseas desk, my work leads me into researching locations and cultures far and wide. I’m responsible for overseeing the recruitment of maternity nurses, nannies, governesses and housekeepers for families across the world, which means there’s never a dull day.
...on how she got here
I originally trained to be a primary school teacher, and supplemented my studies by working as a nanny during the summers - soon enough I realised that my passion really lay in home-based childcare, and I decided to pursue a full time career in the industry. Through my summer nanny roles I made a lot of friends who also worked as professional nannies in London and abroad, so had heard of Nannies Incorporated by word of mouth. When I saw an opportunity with Nannies Incorporated advertised, I immediately went for it!
...on her favourite part of the job
My favourite part of working at Nannies Incorporated is the variety – no day is ever the same!
I’ve built some great relationships with clients and nannies over the past 5 years, and enjoy hearing how they get on, and how the children are growing up. Finding a nanny their dream job or a client their ideal nanny makes me very happy.
When I was younger I was a big reader, I think particularly because my father worked for a renowned book publisher, and so we always had copies of the latest children’s books at home. I always loved the classic authors such as Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl.
...on London’s best kept secrets
In terms of my favourite London places for children, being a big kid at heart, I like to visit anywhere that lets adults get involved in the fun too! Places that get the thumbs up from me include the Warner Brothers Studio - particularly the Harry Potter tour, the ZSL London Zoo and the Science Museum.
I really love to travel and would love to see the Northern Lights, the sunrise over Bagan and the Abu Dhabi Mosque, also trek to Machu Picchu in Peru and meet the Pandas in Chengdu, China!
