Qualified Teacher or Governess needed in Harrow, North London | October Start | £1000 pw
Job ref: G/Harrow
A British family in South Harrow are searching for a professional Governess with an educational or teaching background.
The family have two boys aged 8 and 10 respectively, who are home schooled. The children are at the year 4 and year 6 levels but are both at a higher math level.
The children will be home-schooled by the governess or teacher; therefore it is essential the candidate has knowledge and experience of teaching using the National Curriculum.
The role would suit a primary school teacher, who is looking to be able to take charge of their own lesson planning, with the opportunity to have more time to teach children on a one to one basis.
The governess will be expected to work on a daily sole charge basis, providing the parents with daily/weekly updates on the children’s progression and weekly learning plans.
Experience teaching the year 11 plus entrance exams would be required and a governess who can play or teach piano would be a bonus.
The boys are very active and enjoy running, swimming, cycling, football and outside games. The governess will be required to drop the children off to these activities – all of which are accessible by public transport, although a governess who can drive would be a bonus.
Personality wise the family are looking for someone with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who is also flexible and generally active and someone who can be a role model to the children.
Due to the family having busy, professional jobs that include worldwide travel, the governess is expected to travel with the family on occasions. Travel can be anything from up to 1-3 months at a time. Destinations include Asia, Dubai, Caribbean and within the US.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8am till 6pm. The salary offered will be £800 - £1000 net per week.
The start date is as soon as possible but with flexibility for the right candidate.
