PLACED | Paris 10th | English-Speaking Nanny | September 2023

Please note that only EU passport holders or candidates who already have the right to work in France will be considered.

A young couple of professionals living in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and having two little boys aged 3 years and 10 months, who will go to a bilingual school and a nursery as soon as the school year begins, are looking for an English-speaking nanny for the month of September 2023.

The family has employed an English-speaking nanny for the past three years and would like to continue to raise their children in English, the eldest being already bilingual.

During school periods, the nanny will work from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. She will work from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays if she wishes. Two babysittings per week are required. This equals to 43 hours worked per week.

If this were not the case, working hours will be extended by one hour per day to reach 43 hours per week.

During school holidays the nanny will work from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The nanny will be asked for some flexibility in the event of a child's illness, an unforeseen situation, etc.

The nanny will be offered 6 weeks of paid holidays per year. Two weeks could be taken in July or August.

The nanny will be responsible for dropping off and picking up the children from nursery and school. She will tidy their rooms, anticipate the preparation of their meals and do the necessary lessons for this, take care of their clothes, set up and organize the activities that will be offered to them, etc.

The nanny will be responsible for the well-being of the children, their awakening and will ensure their safety and set up activities adapted to their ages. She will also supervise nap, bath and meal times.

During the summer vacation, the nanny will have to accompany the family on holidays in Provence. The nanny will work 11 hours a day. If the parents have to go out in the evening, they will give free time during the day. Under no circumstances will the nanny work a full day followed by a babysitting.

If the nanny does not wish to work during the weekends and return to Paris on Saturdays/Sundays, the return train ticket will be paid for her. The other option will be to work 10 days in a row and have 4 days free, the train being always at the expense of the employer.

Neither in Paris nor in the South, the nanny will be responsible for the needs of adults. She will not be responsible either for the maintenance of the family home.

It is essential that the nanny has a driving license.

The position is offered on a live-out basis in Paris. In Provence, the family is attentive to the needs of space and freedom of the nanny and they will rent an Air b&b 5 minutes from the villa so that she has a certain independence.

It is possible that the family will go to Corsica for two weeks and the same accommodation conditions will apply.
